The Art of the Koran

The Art of the Qur’an: Treasures of the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art.
In recognition of one of the world’s most extraordinary collections of Qur’ans, the Freer and Sackler Galleries at the Smithsonian Institution Museum are hosting a landmark exhibition, the first of its kind in the United States. Famous for its superb calligraphy and lavish gilding, this collection of manuscripts, which range in date from the early eighth to the seventeenth century, is significant in the history of book art.
The exhibition will be open until the 20th February 2017.
