The Bhong Mosque was under construction for 50 years and was completely finished in 1982. In addition to the graceful architectural design in the style of an oriental fairy tale, the mosque is decorated with fine carvings and mosaics. Marble, gold, onyx and ivory were used in the decoration of the interiors.

The mosque was designed by Rais Ghazi Mohammed. And he financed the project. For the construction of the mosque were collected the best experts from all over Pakistan and India. In 1986, Rais Ghazi Mohammed was awarded the International Prize for his contribution to the development of Islamic culture.
